Product Description

Hydrogen Chloride, HCL Specialty Gas
The compound hydrogen chloride has the chemical formula HCl and as such is a hydrogen halide. At room temperature, it is a colourless gas, which forms white fumes of hydrochloric acid upon contact with atmospheric water vapor. Hydrogen chloride gas and hydrochloric acid are important in technology and industry. Hydrochloric acid, the aqueous solution of hydrogen chloride, is also commonly given the formula HCl.

Product packaging:
Hydrogen chloride gas is strongly irritating, non-combustible gas, and strongly corrosive when dissolved in water. The product is packaged in a high-pressure special steel bottle and is in a liquid state. The special steel bottle is a seamless steel gas cylinder, and the bottle is polished. The bottle valve is a corrosion-resistant stainless steel diaphragm valve. The design pressure of the cylinder is 12.5Mpa, and the working pressure is about 5-6Mpa.

Requirements for transportation and loading
1. When transporting, loading and unloading hydrogen chloride steel cylinders, you must wear a bottle cap, handle it lightly, and do not throw, slip, roll, or bump;
2. For customers who bring their own special car to pull the goods, the cylinders should be placed flat in the car, the mouth of the bottles should be in the same direction, and properly fixed. Chemical transportation qualified units and signed agreements to ensure the safe transportation of steel cylinders.

Storage requirements
1. The warehouse where the hydrogen chloride gas cylinders are stored should be ventilated, dry, and avoid direct sunlight. There should be no trenches, dark tunnels, naked flames, and away from heat sources.
2. The steel bottle should be placed vertically, and the bottle cap should be properly fixed to prevent falling.

Packaged hydrogen chloride (HCl) is used in a range of industries and applications including:
Chemicals: To promote and regenerate catalysts in the petrochemical industry and to add viscosity to oils.
Also used for hydrochlorinations, e.g. production of methyl chloride, oxichlorinations and vinyl chloride.
Hydrogen chloride is also used to produce sulfuric chlorohydrins, synthetic rubbers, etc.
Electronics: High purity gas is widely used in the electronics industry. It is a chlorine carrier produced by high temperature cracking.
Applications: scouring furnaces (quartz chambers), dissolved in water as an aqueous cleaning agent to prepare metal surfaces for electro plating, selective etching of windows in electronic microcircuits and carrier for non-volatile elements in the form of gaseous chloride.
Food & Beverages: To remove the remaining fibres from cotton seeds after the cotton wool has been separated and before the seed is stored for re-sowing next season and also to separate cotton from wood.
Steel & Metals: Used in the production of hard metal.
Pharma & Biotechnology: Used in pharmaceutical synthesis.

If the cylinder is in stock and only needs to be filled with gas, delivery is approximately 7-10 days after receipt of the deposit.


If the cylinder needs to be custom made, delivery is approximately 15-35 days after the deposit is received.That depends on the quantity.

4.How to check the gas quality?

Firstly, our cylinder will take treatment (cleaning, drying, vacuum pumping, and replacement before filling gas. In this way the inside of the cylinder is clear and dry. Secondly, we will perform tests on each of the treated cylinders to assure their internal purity. Thirdly, we will test all the gas after it has been filled into the cylinder. If the gas tested is not up to standard, we will produce it again without releasing the faulty product for ex-work. Finally, we will supply you with a qualified report on the gas test.

5.All the cylinders can be recycled?

Usually seamless steel cylinders can be recycled for use within 20 years.

The disposable cylinder is intended for one use only.

6.Shall we send back the cylinders to China to refill gas again?

Yes, when you order our cylinders, next time, you can send the cylinders back to be filled again.You just have to tell us before you export.We will take care of all customs clearance procedures for imports.
